Roger Federer is almost synonymous with tennis.
He has taken the sport of tennis to new heights with his immense talent, unmatched class, elegance, on the court and off-court personality, and whatnot.
He represents tennis and has worldwide popularity. But what is so appealing in him that attracts people towards him? Let us have a look.
First, his skill and talent.
The Swiss Maestro is known for playing the game of tennis at ease. He makes it look so easy and elegant that anyone watching starts liking tennis AND him.
His efficient, deceptively effortless movement and perfect shot selection are what make him stand out. He has changed the sport completely, mixing the old-school “serve and volley” gameplay with the modern “baseline” game.
He is known to fill the largest stadiums in the world. He has played in the highest attended tennis match ever in Cape Town, SA, with about 52,000 people witnessing him.
Second, his personality.
Federer was a really angry, short-tempered person when he was young. But when his close coach passed away in a car accident, he was devastated and completely changed after that.
His down-to-earth persona is one of his best qualities.
He is known as one of the nicest people on tour. His elegance has earned him the title of GQs Most Stylish Man of the Decade. This truly makes him unique and different.
Third, his success.

Roger is the owner of 103 ATP Tour titles, out of which 20 are Grand Slams, 28 are Masters 1000 titles, and the remaining 500 and 250s. He was on the top of the world rankings for 310 weeks total, out of which 297 were consecutive. Also, he is a versatile player overall who has excelled on all the courts.
Jimmy Connors once said, “In an era of specialists, you’re either a clay court specialist, a grass court specialist, or a hard court specialist… or you’re Roger Federer.”
Money-wise, he is the highest-paid tennis player ever. He is also the 10th highest-paid athlete of all time, with an income of about $ 1.12 billion. He is one of the most luxuriously endorsed people living. Sponsored by companies like Uni Qlo, Rolex, Mercedes Benz, Credit Suisse, and many more, Federer now earns an average of about $100 million per year, just by the endorsements.
All of this combined makes him a perfect ambassador of the sport of lawn tennis.
Currently, he is planning a comeback after a year of a knee injury. Hopefully, he will be back in action in January at the Australian Open.
