Hey guys! Today we’ll talk about Rafael Nadal or as we like to call him, Rafa nadal, who’s probably the most hard-working athlete in the world, and why MOST players are deathly afraid of facing his wrath in the game!
HE PLAYS EVERY MATCH LIKE IT’S HIS LAST
The owner of 20 Grand Slams, an Olympic crown, and 36 Masters 1000 titles, Rafa is regarded as one of the best ever that has held the racquet. His grit, passion, and thirst to win have earned him the title of “The Best Fighter of the sport.”
Known as the “King of Clay,” he has won 13 Roland Garros titles. No other player has dominated like this on any surface, as Rafa has. Sometimes, it is said that players fear before stepping on clay against the “beast.”
His on-court game leaves other players simply stunned. When you play him, every point seems as if it’s the last of his career.
HIS SKILLS
His world-class whip forehand is considered one of the most powerful out there. The topspin he produces is the best in business, with the numbers going as high as 5000 rpm.
The Spanish Bull can defend a point till the end and win it miraculously. He can run like a cheetah and attack like a tiger. Most importantly, his tough mentality helps him save breakpoints and win matches from the verge of defeat. Nobody matches his competitiveness and need-to-win attitude.
HIS IN GRAINED PASSION FOR THE GAME
Rafa Nadal is the perfect example of a hard-working person. His former coach, uncle Toni has built his mental and physical strength since childhood. His attitude and respect towards the game have made him the best. He works out at the highest level and practices intensely for about 4 hours daily. The sweat dripped from his body can probably fill oceans!
At 35 years old, he is also one of the three greatest players of all time (Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic).
Rafa has a very successful record against the two, leading Federer H2H 24-16 and just behind Djokovic 28-30.
HE IS AS SUCCESSFUL OFF THE COURT AS HE IS IN
Off-court, he is one of the most respected players, and his philanthropy and outreach have helped in his worldwide fame. He is the founder of the Rafa Nadal Academy, which is extremely popular among teenagers and young players.
He is also the most followed tennis player on social media, with about 50 million followers across all websites.
Currently, Rafa is recovering from Covid-19, doubtful of his participation in the Australian Open in January. He had taken some time off for recovery due to a foot injury but came back in action at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship.
Rafa is probably the most influential player, both mentally and physically. Do you agree? Let us know your opinions in the comments below.
