The unstructured planning of the Indian architects of the morbi bridge caused almost 135 deaths and many injured. Around 6:30PM in Gujarat, India the morbi bridge lost its wits and collapsed 15m into the river underneath. The bridge was recently closed due to renovations and repairs on the bridge. Clearly the emotional damage caused to the family is the only thing left to be repaired now.
Mahesh chavda:
Mahesh chavda is a teenage boy who described the bridge as the state’s technological marvel. It was a nostalgic memory for the boy and his family as it had been shut down for “repairs”. Mahesh describes fond memories of the bridge like going there with his family and every sunday with his friends. They had just heard that the bridge reopened and decided to go visit and eventually have a visit that they would remember forever. Mahesh described the bridge as crowded and stated that he and his friends were going to wait till people got off for safety measures. However that clearly was not a concern of those employed at the bridge site. The ticket distributor told them that they had to go on to avoid traffic in the long line to get in, atleast India has noticed their traffic problems. Thankfully Mahesh and his friends are all alive and just injured and expected make full recoveries.
